  4. You can add 5-10 drops of your favourite essential oil while the mixture is cooling. Lavender is great for a relaxing balm, while peppermint is amazing at making a pick me up balm. Pour the mix into one of our metal lip balm tins or amber glass jars and leave to cool and set.
  5. Once set, place the lids on and keep in a cool place.
  6. This is a multi purpose balm as you can use it on hands, feet, elbows, lips, hair and even your hands and cuticles.

7. Non Greasy Body Lotion

What you need:

  • 2 Tablespoons of Grated Beeswax
  • 1/2 Cup of Sweet Almond Oil or Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of Vitamin E Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Butter
  • 3/4 Cup of Water
  • Double broiler (you can create this by putting a glass bowl into a pan of simmering water)

How to make it:

  1. Melt your beeswax, almond oil, and cocoa butter in a double broiler.
  2. Once they've melted add the vitamin E, a natural preservative and excellent for nourishing skin. In the base of a blender add your water.
  3. Once the water is blending slowly stream in your oils. You're creating an emulsion. Do it VERY SLOWLY. You will see it form into a thick and creamy consistency.
  4. Pour it into  amber glass pump bottles or amber glass jars from The Clean Collective.
  5. This mixture then needs to be kept in the fridge to avoid it spoiling.

8. Whipped Body Butter

What you need:

  • 53 g Shea Butter
  • 26g Coconut Oil
  • 13g Sweet Almond Oil
  • 13g Sunflower Oil
  • 7g Jojoba Oil
  • 3.5g Beeswax Pellets
  • ½ tbsp Tapioca Starch or Arrowroot Powder
  • ¼ tsp Vitamin E Oil
  • Kitchen scale
  • A small glass bowl
  • Double Broiler (you can create this by putting a glass bowl into a pan of simmering water)
  • A hand or stand mixer
  • A Metal Tin or Amber Glass Jar from The Clean Collective

 How to make it:

  1. For a strong fragrant Body Butter add 3-4 drops of each: Patchouli, Lavender, Tea Tree, Frankincense and Sweet Orange essential oils; OR For a more subtle Orange & Vanilla body butter add ⅛ tsp vanilla extract and 10-15 drops of Sweet Orange Essential Oil.
  2. Using a kitchen scale, measure out the shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil and bees wax into a small, glass bowl.
  3. Melt the oils using a double boiler.
  4. Remove from heat once melted and let the mixture cool until it's opaque (to speed this is you can put it in the fridge, but don't let it solidify completely).
  5. Next, it's time to whip the melted oils into body butter. If using a hand mixer, add the remaining ingredients to the bowl. If you're using a stand mixer, add the remaining ingredients and the melted oils to the stand mixer bowl.
  6. Whip until the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is light and fluffy - about 3-5 minutes.
  7. You're finished whipping when the body butter can stick to a spoon when held upside-down.
  8. Transfer to a reused metal tin or one of The Clean Collective's Amber Glass Jars and store in a cool place.
